Book Battle

Miranda had the opportunity to participate in the 2nd grade book battle. The kids are given a list of 13 books that they read over a 13 week time period. They are then given a written test and the top 12 go on to book battle where they each have a buzzer and are given a statement and they have to buzz in and tell what book the statement is from. There are 4 rounds of 30 statements each. Miranda was one of the top twelve from the 2nd grade who got to go on to the buzzer round. She was very nervous to participate in the buzzer round and have everyone watching. She kept telling us she was not going to do it. We kept trying to encourage her, but it was actually her cousins who got her to finally say that she would do it. Her cousins sent her a letter in the mail wishing her good luck at book battle and when she opened the letter and I told her how proud her cousins were of her she said, "Oh, fine, I'll do it!"
